IdentityKairòs represents the time of the encounter with Christ. The encounter with Christ means to meet a living person, the Living Person, who whispers to every single creature: "I love you as you are". Meeting Jesus means to encounter the Person of the Saviour, a reality of love and reception, in which to have faith, a source of our hope and love, that invites us to succeed in a project of life. It does not mean to meet a philosophy, an ideology, a political idea, a psychological therapy, a stream of thought or culture. Kairòs is the chance to discover our real EGO, our essence, our authenticity, and that is why it is a place meant to receive anyone willing to live serenely their own homosexuality and Christian vocation. The aim of Kairòs is the human promotion in the light of God's Word. That is why it offers opportunities to grow up, which help gay people in their path of profound integration between homosexuality and Christian Faith, so that homosexuality could be recognised as a God's gift and their life could reach the necessary fulfilment through this way of progressive acceptance. Kairòs suggests a way of spirituality made up of personal and common prayer, as well as the reading of the Bible and taking part in the life of the Church. Kairòs promotes the development of profound and sincere relationships, the rediscovery of the values of friendship and solidarity. Kairòs helps make peace with ourselves, our own nature, spirituality, family, our place of origin, our social and cultural context. It helps make peace with the study or work environment, the social environment which we live in, the whole world and, above all, GOD. Kairòs wants people to discover the joy to feel alive, the gratefulness to be as we are, for Christ came to this world so that every single woman and man could have life and enjoy it in abundance (John 10, 10). Kairòs aims to be a place where to develop the knowledge of a possible cohabitation between Christian Faith and sexual orientation, contribute to the renewal of the Church and the society in which we live, also with the concrete testimony of our own life. It describes the joy of love and sexuality as a precious gift coming straight from God himself. Kairòs promotes the dialogue between realities often considered as incompatible. This is why it supports both the Church and GLBT (gay, lesbian, bisexual, transsexual) associations and movements. Kairòs respects and defends the laity of the State, that is fundamental for a peaceful cohabitation of all its citizens. TestimonyIn our way we aim at: - giving reception, listening, moral and spiritual support to those who feel guilty to be a part of the Church due to their sexual orientation; - promoting the study of teaching of all Christian Churches; - fighting all forms of fundamentalism, integralism, authoritarianism and discrimination; - collaborating, in the way that suits to every single person, with every social and religious reality. - organizing periodical meetings based on spiritual and human communion; - creating opportunities to discuss about different topics, also benefiting from the contribute of skilled persons; - sharing moments of common prayer and retreats; - taking part in occasions of aggregation and comparison with other associations; - encouraging opportunities of encounter and acquaintance between members; - welcoming other local groups or skilled people, in order to work out problems and needs of those gays and lesbians who get in touch with the group, in case Kairòs itself is not able to help them. OrganizationAnyone who respects the values and spirit of Kairòs can join the group Anyone who participates to the activities of Kairòs has to contribute, according to their possibilities, to the expenses for the management of the group. Every single thing that is voluntarily made for the benefit of Kairòs ( publications, websites, researches etc.) will be always Kairòs - owned. Everyone is called to actively and constructively participate to the life of Kairòs: everybody has the right to express in the decisions to be taken and in the activities to be suggested. Every decision is taken by the majority of those who are present. The task to represent, manage, coordinate the activities of Kairòs is conferred to three persons, yearly voted by the majority of the members. The elected members are responsible for the proper management of the group, and they deal with the reception and guarantee the unity and cohesion of Kairòs. The group can decide to revoke the mandate of one or more among the elected. Before Summer, the satisfaction of each member concerning the activity of the past year will be tested. |
